Artist's Comments

This photo is oooold. It was shot in February, actually. At the harbour. My dad and I took a trip 'round the city in his car, looking for photo opportunities. As we reached the harbour, the sun was setting, and a minute after this photo was shot, the sun was gone.

Title is Norwegian, meaning "Evening gold", or something along those lines. I was lacking a good title, ok?

Single RAW shot with my EOS 450D, processed in three files, assembled to one HDR, tonemapped into three different pictures, then combined in The Gimp. A funky workflow, but it yields some results at least :o

It looks, almost not real. Very trippy indeed sir.

My inner child has issues...

Truth be told
There is no truth.
We've lost the moral to the story-
The seduction of the Light hath come
To reap the pleasures of the Dark.

it has that painting kind of look about it, its a really cool photo ^o^
:iconathero:
It is highly real indeed -- although, HDRs often tend to look a bit surreal. Who knows? ;)

Well, imagine doing it, aye? Think I spent a lil' more than one hour on getting this photo to look like that =)

But I never realised it looked like a painting.

Are we real? Is anything real? And last but not least, was this ever real? We may never know.

But you've seen the photo, and I daresay, if you believe your eyes, it could as well be real.

Especially the borders have the look, I guess, since they're blurred. 'Twas an attempt at making a frame for the photo.

And another reason would be the fact that even though the sky is perfectly exposed, the buildings still show. That's the magic of HDRs, mydear.
